# Neutrophils

Neutrophils are a type of white blood cell that help fight bacterial infections. Low levels of neutrophils can increase the risk of infection.

## iollo markers that associate with Neutrophils

### Arachidonic acid

Arachidonic acid is released from neutrophil membranes and metabolized to pro-inflammatory eicosanoids that amplify the inflammatory response and neutrophil activation.

### Docosahexaenoic acid

Docosahexaenoic acid is an omega-3 fatty acid that gets incorporated into neutrophil membranes and can modulate neutrophil function by reducing pro-inflammatory mediator production.
