# Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin Concentration (MCHC)

Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin Concentration (MCHC) is a measure of the average concentration of hemoglobin in each red blood cell. Abnormal MCHC may indicate certain types of anemia or other blood disorders.

### Succinic acid

Succinic acid is an intermediate in the citric acid cycle, which generates energy for heme synthesis. Alterations in succinic acid may affect hemoglobin production and MCHC.
